Today we embark on a project that will take at least 4 days if not a few more next week.  Using the information we have learned about movement of people, goods and ideas, we will begin to tell stories based in historical fact.  These fictionalized stories of history will focus on the experiences of indigenous teenagers as they lived through European colonialism.  Your stories will be presented using a variety of technological tools.

Steps for Success

  1. Choose a country to focus on for the project
  2. Write a short script for your story.  Your goal is to role play a fictionalized character from a real moment in history.  The script should evidence your understanding of the issues that indigenous people faced when encountered by a colonizing nation.
  3. Using audacity or the mp3 players, record your script.
  4. Locate images that relate to your story.
  5. Create a voicethread account.  http://www.voicethread.com
  6. Upload the images and audio file to the voicethread for this project.
  7. Assist other students with the completion of the project or start your own voicethread that tells a real story from your own life.  Remember to NEVER use your name or real image when uploading content to the web.
